In America, 40% of food is wasted. This is an astounding number. The Data Supercluster is examining how today’s waste stream management build environment might share data relevant to food waste. Is enough data available but hidden today? Can inferences from grocery and restaurant purchases drive data models that support food waste metrology?
A call for an Action Cluster to investigate methods to measure food waste, take action to mitigate food waste and measure results will be announced soon. To create your own Action Cluster in the Data Supercluster, use the NIST GCTC Action Cluster worksheet/application form.
